ME

SELFIE, IG TRIPTYCH

I am Nanikita.   My artist pseudonym for Ani allows my yearning to create and provides me with a meaningful life through art.

I am not comfortable speaking about myself.   My point in writing that is in a way to connect with others that don't feel comfortable as well.   While my work may show confidence, how I feel especially about myself is not easy to share.   It's the struggle of accepting our all.   As an artist, I aim to keep myself open to life, to my personal experiences with others, and to my core which embodies a full spectrum of feelings and thoughts allowing them to enrich my soul.

I am introspective and intuitive, a humanitarian, a lover of nature, a skeptic, I root for the underdog, and I like to dwell deep with those that touch my soul as our threads of life are interwoven.

Mostly a self-taught artist who has been drawing since early childhood, I grew up in NYC where riding the trains from Queens to Manhattan provided me with my earliest of inspirations.   I went to NYU and completed a Multi-Media Design Program as I love to integrate my artwork with digital work to transform into another beautiful, unexpected creation.

I now reside in the beautiful Hudson Valley where my soul appreciates a gentler pace of life.   Here I am graced with a changing scenic landscape, the rustic warm quality of living close to nature, and the breathtaking opportunity to look at my giant trees and be tickled by serenading owls.

I am of the Wabi-Sabi state of mind, not just a style.   By accepting the imperfection of nature and of people, we appreciate the raw, genuine, life-worn authentic beauty in all we see.

Being cerebral, I couldn’t just wait to rely on pure talent.   I also work as an Orthopedics nurse.   It satisfies my nature to help others.   As an artist, having an affinity towards hands, hand injuries with amputations are the most difficult for me to care for.

Five things I love:   the beach, ocean turtles, salt, a cerulean blue sky, and frolicking with the people and pets I love.
